Cover Contest
In December, I announced a contest. Here is what I posted:
I thought something might be fun. Maybe some of you will agree. I'm running a little contest.
I want to do a book cover contest. Y'all come up with the cover, and I'll write a story to match. The winner gets a free ebook of the end result along with bragging rights. Oh, and there might be more than one winner. (Or none, I suppose, if no one plays.)
The rules are simple. Email me either an image or a link to an image that I could legally use for a book cover. For the image to be legal, either you must already own the copyrights (it's something you created), or it should be in the public domain (unlikely), or it should come from a place like Shutterstock.com.
I will post the images here on the web site and either select my favorite or open things to voting. Or something.
The little mini-contest goes from now until January 15, 2016.
Almost Done
I'm going to give people until I go to bed Tuesday evening, January 19, to send me any last submissions. If you've already sent a bunch, please don't add to the list. :-) But if you haven't and would like to, you have until Tuesday. Email your entries.
Voting
Beginning Wednesday morning, what I'm going to do is open things to voting. Here's what we're going to do. Everyone gets 1 point, but you can divide that point however you want. If you like two equally, you can give a half point to each.
I'll run voting for one week, until bedtime the 26th of January. After that, what I'll do is complicated to explain, but I'll total the points for each entry. Any entry that has received less than 1 point will be eliminated. If someone voted for that entry, the partial point you spent on that entry will be distributed to any other entries on which you voted. I'll re-total, then do the same thing at 2 points, 3 points, 4 points, etc, until we get down to a manageable number.
At that point, I'm going to see how it goes. If I have a favorite from the ones still left, I'll pick. If not, well, we'll figure something out.
